KUALA LUMPUR, Oct. 16 -- The government has pledged thorough, transparent and professional investigations into criminal cases such as rape and murder that occur within school premises.
Buletin TV3 reported that Home Minister Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail said public confidence - particularly among parents who send their children to school - must be strengthened by ensuring that perpetrators of such crimes, including those committed in schools, are brought to justice.
He said parents were right to be concerned about school safety following recent incidents involving fatal stabbings, rape, and students falling from buildings.
