KUALA LUMPUR, March 5 -- Gleneagles Kuala Lumpur and Sunway Medical Centre in Petaling Jaya have been named the top 250 hospitals in the world by Newsweek in collaboration with Statista for the annual ranking of the world's best hospital.

According to the report, the list included data on 2,400 hospitals across 30 countries, including the US, most of Western Europe, 10 Asian countries and Scandinavia.

For the first time, Malaysia and Chile were added to the ranking.

The Gleneagles Kuala Lumpur and Sunway Medical Centre Petaling Jaya ranked 223 and 233 respectively.

The top 10 healthcare centres on the list were dominated by hospitals from the US, Canada, Germany, Sweden, France, Israel and Switzerland.
