SINGAPORE, Nov. 1 -- Authorities in Singapore have ordered the closure of a fire-damaged industrial building in the eastern precint of Eunos, for safety inspections after a major blaze tore through the site on yesterday evening.
In a Facebook post today, the island-state's Building and Construction Authority (BCA) said it will serve orders to the owner of the single-storey building at 1079 Eunos Avenue 7, requiring the premises to be closed off for detailed structural assessment and repair works.
The owner must also appoint a Professional Engineer to advise on safety measures, inspect the affected structure and recommend permanent rectification works, the agency said in a statement.
