SIBU, Sept. 27 -- The 29-door Rumah Austin Ikew, located at Jalan Song Temalat, Nanga Sungai Sipan in Song was completely destroyed in a fire early this morning.

However, the number of families displaced by the fire remained uncertain at press time.

The Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) said a distress call was received 4.21am, and firefighters from Song and Kapit fire stations were dispatched to the scene.

"The fire is now under control. The team is currently conducting overhaul operations," it added.

Bomba confirmed that no casualties were reported.

The cause of fire and losses incurred are still under investigation. - The Borneo Post
