JOHOR BAHRU, Sept. 18 -- Johor is expected to produce nine million litres of fresh milk per year by next year, an increase of around 10 per cent of the country's current output.

Johor Agriculture, Agro-based Industry and Rural Development Committee chairman Datuk Zahari Sarip said the effort will be driven by productivity at the Jemaluang Dairy Valley (JDV) Complex in Mersing.

"Johor currently produces around 6.4 million litres of milk per year. With JDV's operation, the production rate will increase to nine million litres of milk per year.

"Following that, the output will then be increased to between 13 and 15 million litres of milk by 2027," he said in a post on his official Facebook page today.
