KOTA KINABALU, Oct. 15 -- The Election Commission (EC) has announced that the Sabah election period will run from November 15 to November 29.

Nomination Day is scheduled for November 15, with early voting set for November 25.

Polling day will take place on Saturday, November 29.

The announcement comes after the official dissolution of the 16th Sabah State Assembly on October 6.

During a press conference, EC chairman Datuk Seri Ramlan Harun said the two-week campaign period will run from the day after nomination until 11.59pm on November 28.

A total of 1,784,843 voters are eligible to cast their ballots, including 1.76 million ordinary voters, 11,697 military personnel and their spouses, and 12,729 police personnel and their spouses....
