KUALA LUMPUR, Dec. 13 -- Two workers remain trapped after a coal-handling crane collapsed at the Tanjung Bin Power plant in Kukup, Johor, this afternoon, injuring another worker and sparking a small fire that was swiftly brought under control.

Senior Operations Commander of the Pontian Baru Fire and Rescue Station, Mahadir Mamat, said his team received an emergency call at 1.01pm, after the crane collapsed and struck the workers.

"One of the victims was successfully extricated and sustained injuries, while two others remain trapped and rescue efforts are continuing," he said to Sinar Harian.

A small fire triggered by the collapse was quickly controlled, with authorities confirming the situation is now contained.
