SIBU, April 1 -- A 42-year-old Chinese national has been remanded for four days, starting yesterday, to assist in the investigation into the road accident that resulted in the death of Sabah State Court Director Marutin Pagan.

Sibu Police Chief ACP Zulkipli Suhaili confirmed the remand, stating that it was necessary to facilitate the investigation into the fatal crash.

The incident occurred on March 30 at the Kanowit roundabout along Jalan Kanowit/Julau/Durin, involving two sports utility vehicles (SUVs).In a statement issued the same day, Zulkipli said that Marutin, who suffered severe head injuries, was pronounced dead at the scene after being ejected from the vehicle.
