BANGKOK, Oct. 21 -- Winter is knocking on Thailand's door and will officially arrive this Thursday, Oct 23, promising a chill that peaks from mid-December to early February, according to the Meteorological Department.

Temperatures will steadily slide while rainfall dwindles in the upper regions, with northeasterly or easterly winds wrapping the country in a crisp embrace, The Bangkok Post reported today.

"However, this does not mean that cold weather will start simultaneously in all regions in the country," Suchada Thaensap, spokesman of Thailand's Ministry of Digital Economy and Society was quoted as saying.

Average lows in Thailand will hover around 21-22degC, while mountaintops could dip to 7-8degC with frosty mornings in the north ...
