SEBERANG PERAI, Nov. 8 -- The second Urban Transformation Centre (UTC) in Penang is now operational at the Penang Sentral Transport Terminal in Butterworth.

The new UTC is expected to serve more than one million residents across Seberang Jaya, Penaga, Perai, Bukit Mertajam, as well as the southern border of Kedah and northern Perak.

The centre, which is the 24th UTC in the country, was officially launched today by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.

It was among the initiatives announced by Anwar during the tabling of Budget 2025, and established through a collaboration between the Finance Ministry and the Penang state government.
