KUALA LUMPUR, Sept. 25 -- Malaysia, as the current Chair of Asaen, is reaffirming its proactive role in regional security, following successful efforts to facilitate a ceasefire between Cambodia and Thailand.

In a phone conversation with US President Donald Trump earlier today, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim emphasised Malaysia's commitment to promoting peace in South-east Asia.

"Malaysia, as Asean Chair, will continue to play a proactive role in ensuring regional peace, particularly concerning the Cambodia-Thailand issue," Anwar said in a Facebook post today.
