SHAH ALAM, Nov. 8 -- Parti Amanah Negara is hoping to win its first ever seat in Sabah in the upcoming Sabah state election.

At its national convention here, Amanah secretary-general Muhammad Faiz Fadzil noted that the Sabah state election would officially kick off soon in about a week's time.

"Although we will face a big challenge in the state elections this time, but be confident that with our spirit and ambition, we will be able to achieve the first-ever seat for Amanah in the state election this time," he said in his welcoming speech as the convention director.

Amanah has named Mohd Julpikar Ab Mijan as the party's sole candidate for the Sabah state elections, and he will contest in the Sulabayan state seat in Semporna.
