KUALA LUMPUR, Oct. 9 -- Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim said he was deeply moved by the overwhelming show of solidarity at last night's rally for Gaza, describing it as a reflection of the nation's true character.

He said the thousands of Malaysians who gathered did so not out of obligation but from a shared compassion and conscience in opposing injustice.

"This is the true face of Malaysia - a principled and compassionate nation with a big heart that refuses to accept oppression and tyranny.

"Malaysia is not afraid to stand up for the truth," he wrote on his social media pages.
