Hong Kong, Dec. 1 -- World AIDS Day is observed on December 1 every year in order to raise awareness of the AIDS pandemic caused by the spread of HIV infection and pay tribute to the AIDS patients.

According to a National AIDS Control Organisation (NACO) report, it was estimated that in 2017, over 2.14 million people lived with HIV/AIDS in India, which makes us the third country in the world with the largest population of people living with the condition.
