India, March 5 -- Several decades ago, laws prohibited women from owning properties or even a bank account in their name. In 2025, women entrepreneurs run 8.05 million out of the total 58.5 million establishments in India, according to a report from the Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation (MOSPI). While the figure may appear modest in comparison to their male counterparts, it nonetheless represents a significant triumph for women globally who are navigating the pressures of societal norms and expectations.
