India, Dec. 25 -- Is Song Sung Blue, Craig Brewer's latest drama about a Neil Diamond tribute act, based on a true story?

Directed, written and co-produced by Brewer, best known for the 2005 movie Hustle & Flow and Coming 2 America (2021), Song Sung Blue is inspired by Greg Kohs' 2008 documentary of the same name. Led by Australian actor Hugh Jackman and Hollywood star Kate Hudson, the film revolves around the humble beginnings and eventual rise of the real-life musical duo Lightning & Thunder.
