India, Sept. 4 -- Relentless rain and subsequent floods have pushed North India into a crisis - the Char Dham Yatra and Hemkund pilgrimage have been suspended, landslides have caused widespread devastation across Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand, and floods in Punjab have claimed lives and destroyed over 3 lakh acres of crops. The Indian Armed Forces, National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), and the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) are mobilising aid and assistance - dropping food, medicines, and essentials to cut-off villages via land and aerial drops.
