India, June 5 -- If you're planning a trip to Thailand in the next few months, be aware that the country has reinstated the requirement for financial proof as a necessary part of the tourist visa application process. According to Thailand's official e-visa portal, all tourists, regardless of their nationality, must now provide evidence of at least THB 20,000 (INR 51,577.68).

This requirement was temporarily suspended in November 2023 to encourage travel after the COVID pandemic, but was reinstated in May 2025. The measure aims to ensure that all applicants can demonstrate their ability to support themselves during their stay in the country.
