India, May 7 -- As the Met Gala 2025 unfolded beneath a dreamlike tent of curated chaos and calculated glamour, all eyes momentarily dropped, not in awe of a hemline but to admire the carpet. A sweeping 63,000-square-foot expanse in inky blue, crawling with delicate floral motifs and shimmering with intention. And the best part, it came from India.
The blue carpet that carried Kiara Advani's GG trail and Isha Ambani's diamonds was spun from sisal fibres sourced in Madagascar, but it found its form in the looms and hands of Neytt by Extraweave, a Kerala-based design house that's redefining global luxury, one natural thread at a time.
