India, Jan. 3 -- With the list of highest-grossing movies of 2025 being topped by an animated feature, it's safe to say that it was truly a strong year for animation in cinema. The Chinese film Ne Zha 2 surpassed all other releases worldwide to take the crown. This makes 2025 the second consecutive year in which an animated film emerged as the top grosser. Several live-action films are certainly among the year's highest earners, but animation dominates the list.Ne Zha 2 is followed by Zootopia 2, Lilo & Stitch and A Minecraft Movie.
