India, July 23 -- It was over an intimate candlelit dinner at The Chanakya, Delhi's gleaming temple of luxury, that I found myself seated beside Erwin Creed, the seventh-generation custodian of the legendary House of Creed. We spoke about his curiosity and excitement for the Indian food, the alchemy of scent and the absurd beauty of a well-constructed bottle. But it was when he told me about his very first trip to India in 2017 that the story truly unfurled. "I came to see this mall," he said with a smile. "The Chanakya hadn't opened yet, but even then, I could feel the potential." Years and a few hiccups later, the House of Creed has finally opened its doors in India.
