India, Aug. 8 -- "Last night at 2:17 am, every child from Mrs. Gandy's class woke up, got out of bed, went downstairs, opened the front door, walked into the dark... and they never came back," says the unnamed child narrator in the opening of Weapons. We then watch a bunch of young kids in the sleepy little town of Maybrook run along into the night. It's ominous and instantly haunting. This is a Zack Cregger film, his next after the unexpected 2022 hit Barbarian, and it's already looking like a significant step up in the first few minutes.
