Sri Lanka, Dec. 24 -- Trincomalee Power Company Limited, which is 50% owned by the Ceylon Electricity Board and 50% owned by India's NTPC, invites tenders for a 50 MW ground-mounted solar power plant to be constructed in the Sampur area of the Trincomalee District by the Sri Lanka Energy Company Limited (SLEC).
The scope includes the entire process from planning to installation of the solar power plant, as well as the installation of a battery storage system of at least 20 MW/20 MWh. Tenders can be submitted until 18th February 2026 and will be opened on 19th February 2026. Construction is expected to be completed within 21 months from the date of the tender award.
