New Delhi, Aug. 13 -- Key Indian solar manufacturers, including Waaree Energies and Premier Energies, are under the spotlight after the US Department of Commerce launched an investigation into imports of solar photovoltaic (PV) cells and modules fr0m India, Indonesia, and Laos.

The probe will examine whether these products, imported in 2024, were sold at unfairly low prices or benefited fr0m government subsidies.

The move follows a petition filed on July 17 by the Alliance for American Solar Manufacturing and Trade. The petition alleges that governments in the three countries provide financial assistance to solar cell producers, which harms or poses a threat to US manufacturers.
