New Delhi, Nov. 20 -- The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) held a stakeholder outreach webinar on 'Offline Verification using the Aadhaar App', ahead of the launch of the new Aadhaar App, to help strengthen the growing ecosystem for secure, paperless and privacy-focused identity verification.

More than 250 entities and individuals from diverse sectors participated in the session, which provided an overview of the app's features and the benefits of offline Aadhaar verification.

The UIDAI CEO highlighted the objective of promoting offline verification as a secure, convenient and privacy-protecting alternative to sharing physical copies of Aadhaar, which can increase the risk of misuse.
