Chennai, July 14 -- In response to escalating production costs and delayed buyer payments, yarn manufacturers in Tamil Nadu's Tirupur district have come together to form the Tirupur Yarn Manufacturers Association (TYMA).
The newly launched body aims to revive the struggling yarn sector and restore profitability.
Tirupur, a key textile hub, houses over 50 yarn mills that supply raw material to the district's booming knitwear industry.
Despite the growing demand in domestic and international knitwear markets-expected to soon reach Rs 1 lakh crore-yarn manufacturers say they are unable to keep pace due to increasing operational hurdles.
