New Delhi, Feb. 3 -- The Government of India is implementing a range of schemes and initiatives aimed at the holistic development of the country's textile and handloom sector, covering the entire value chain from raw material production to manufacturing, skilling, branding and market access, said Minister of State for Textiles Pabitra Margherita.

In written reply to a question in Lok Sabha, the MoS said that key initiatives to promote the sector include PM Mega Integrated Textile Regions and Apparel (PM MITRA) Parks Scheme, Production Linked Incentive (PLI) Scheme for man-made fibre apparel and technical textiles and National Technical Textiles Mission (NTTM) focusing on research, innovation, market development, skilling and export promo...
