New Delhi, Sept. 23 -- India's Tata Advanced Systems has launched the country'sfirst overseas defence manufacturing plantin Berrechid, Morocco, marking a significant step in India's global defence expansion.

The facility will produce theWheeled Armoured Platform (WhAP) 8x8, developed jointly by Tata Advanced Systems and the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO).

The vehicle features advanced systems, including an integrated power pack with automatic transmission, as well as flotation and propulsion capabilities, making it suitable for modern combat requirements.
