New Delhi, Aug. 23 -- In a significant development,Hwaseung Footwear Group-a South Korea-headquartered company-announced aRs 1,720 croreinvestment to establish itsfirst production facility in India, slated for Tuticorin, Tamil Nadu.
The new plant will specialise innon-leather footwear manufacturingand is anticipated to create approximately20,000 direct jobs, making it one of the largest employment-generating footwear ventures in the state.
The announcement was made during Tamil Nadu's inauguralTN Rising Investors Conclaveheld in Tuticorin onAugust 4, 2025, where the state government signed41 MOUsworthRs 32,553.85 crorein investments-expected to generate nearly49,845 jobs.
