New Delhi, Feb. 2 -- Public sector Steel Authority of India (SAIL) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with rail PSU RITES to strengthen logistics and operational efficiency across SAIL's plants and mining operations.

SAIL operates a dedicated internal rail network within its plant and mine premises to facilitate the movement of raw materials, intermediate products, and finished steel.

The maintenance and availability of its diesel locomotive fleet, including locomotives taken on wet lease, are critical to sustaining operations and supporting planned capacity expansion.
