New Delhi, Jan. 6 -- Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL), a Maharatna central public sector enterprise and one of the country's leading steel producers, reported its highest-ever sales volume for the month of December, posting provisional sales of 2.1 million tonnes (MT) in December 2025.

This represents an increase of about 37 per cent over the 1.5 MT recorded in December 2024, marking the company's strongest performance for the month to date.

The December performance reflected gains across multiple product categories and sales channels, accompanied by a reduction in inventories.

According to the company, a sustained focus on customer deliveries and renewed branding initiatives also contributed to the improved outcome.
