Mumbai, May 14 -- The retail business across India has reported a growth of 23 per cent in sales as compared to pre-pandemic levels (April 2019) in April 2022.

As per the 27th edition of the Retail Business Survey by the Retailers Association of India (RAI) with growth rate of 23 per cent the positive trend continues for the sector.

Speaking about the findings, Kumar Rajagopalan, CEO, Retailers Association of India (RAI), said, "It is heartening to see that customers are back in the stores, shopping and retailers are witnessing quantity growth in sales. While most of the categories have shown good performance, it is important to note that about 10 per cent of this growth can be accounted to inflation."
