New Delhi, Dec. 16 -- Minister of State for New and Renewable Energy Shripad Yesso Naik informed the Rajya Sabha on Monday that the Government has installed 19,45,758 rooftop solar (RTS) systems across the country under the PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana (PMSG: MBY) as of December 9, 2025, benefiting 24,35,196 households.

Launched in February 2024, the scheme aims to install rooftop solar systems in one crore households by FY 2026-27, with a total outlay of Rs 75,021 crore. The objective is to promote clean energy adoption in the residential sector while reducing electricity costs for households.
