New Delhi, Aug. 5 -- NITI Aayog on Monday launched the India Electric Mobility Index (IEMI)-a first-of-its-kind national tool designed to comprehensively evaluate and benchmark the progress of Indian states and union territories in advancing electric mobility.

The IEMI scores all states and UTs on a scale of 100, based on 16 indicators grouped into three core thematic areas: Transport Electrification Progress, Charging Infrastructure Readiness, and EV Research and Innovation Status.

Unveiling the index, NITI Aayog Member Rajiv Gauba highlighted the significance of the tool in driving policy and performance.
