New Delhi, Dec. 2 -- The Ministry of Coal has introduced a streamlined approval mechanism for exploration programs and Geological Reports (GRs) for coal and lignite blocks, aiming to accelerate exploration activities and strengthen India's energy preparedness.

The reform responds to rising national energy needs and seeks to improve the efficiency, transparency, and technological strength of the country's exploration ecosystem.

Under the revised framework, exploration programs and GRs prepared by Notified Accredited Prospecting Agencies (APAs) accredited by National Accreditation Board for Education and Training (NABET), Quality Council of India (QCI), QCI-NABET and peer-reviewed by another accredited APA will no longer require clearance...
