New Delhi, Jan. 28 -- The Ministry of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare has formed a high-level Committee to review and strengthen Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs) in Tamil Nadu.
The initiative follows the intervention of Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, who, during his recent visit to Erode, Tamil Nadu, identified operational, technical, and market-related challenges faced by FPOs and directed a comprehensive, field-oriented assessment to address these issues.
The Committee will assess key aspects of FPO functioning, including governance and management practices, business operations and sustainability, technical support and extension services, aggregation, value addition, marketing, and capacity-building requirements....
