New Delhi, Jan. 20 -- Union Minister for Textiles Giriraj Singh said that the domestic textile sector has transformed from a traditional industry into a modern, employment-intensive driver of economic growth.
The sector is increasingly emerging as a people-centric growth engine with significant potential for job creation, english daily BusinessLine quoted the minister as saying.
The Minister highlighted that initiatives such as PM MITRA Parks, Production Linked Incentive (PLI) schemes and newly concluded Free Trade Agreements are expected to generate the next phase of employment growth in the textile and apparel sector.
