Chennai, July 1 -- Union Minister of State for Textiles and External Affairs, Pabitra Margherita, on Monday underscored the critical role of man-made fibre (MMF) in driving India's textile and apparel exports towards the ambitious USD 100 billion target by 2030.

Speaking at the third Man-Made Fibre Conclave held in Coimbatore, the minister said that central initiatives such as the PM-MITRA parks and the Production-Linked Incentive (PLI) scheme will be pivotal in transforming the sector.

"Tamil Nadu is the torchbearer of the Indian textile industry," Margherita said, adding that the conclave offers a platform to address existing challenges and position India as a global hub for MMF production and innovation.
