Mumbai, Feb. 18 -- Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde has directed the Industry Department to prioritise resolving long-pending worker dues, some of which have been unsettled for years.
His directive comes amid increasing reports of a power struggle between Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and Shinde, as both leaders establish parallel offices to oversee key projects.
During a review meeting at the Sahyadri Guest House, Shinde instructed the formation of a special cell to monitor struggling industries, update relevant data, and ensure timely action on workers' pending payments.
He stressed the need for urgent measures to support workers affected by the financial collapse of sick and closed factories.
