Madurai, April 11 -- The Madurai District Tiny and Small Scale Industries Association (MADITSSIA) has welcomed the Tamil Nadu government's new self-certification policy for building plan approvals, aimed at cottage industries and green-category industrial buildings.
In a statement, MADITSSIA president T. Kodeeswaran called the initiative a major step forward for small entrepreneurs, especially in the Madurai region.
The policy allows for instant approvals of factory buildings up to 2,690 sq. ft. (500 sq. metres), fulfilling a long-pending demand from the association.
