Bengaluru, Aug. 5 -- Karnataka has recorded the second highest Goods and Service Tax collection of Rs 9,795 crore in July 2022, witnessing a growth of 45 per cent from the previous month. The GST collection for the month of June stood at Rs 6,737.





The top five states in absolute terms are Maharashtra which collected the highest GST at Rs 22,129 crore, followed by Karnataka at Rs 9,795 crore, Gujarat at Rs 9,183 crore, Tamil Nadu at Rs 8,449 crore and Uttar Pradesh Rs 7,074 crore, according to the latest official data. The collection figures do not include GST on the import of goods.
