Bengaluru, Nov. 11 -- JSW Energy Limited has commenced operations at its first green hydrogen manufacturing unit - now the largest in India.

The plant, located adjacent to JSW Steel's facility in Vijayanagar, Karnataka, will supply green hydrogen directly to the steelmaker's Direct Reduced Iron (DRI) unit, helping reduce fossil fuel dependence and support low-carbon steel production.

The project, commissioned under Tranche I of the Production Linked Incentive Scheme of the National Green Hydrogen Mission, will deliver 3,800 tonnes per annum (TPA) of green hydrogen and 30,000 TPA of green oxygen to JSW Steel under a seven-year offtake agreement, reported ANI.
