New Delhi, Sept. 17 -- India is aiming to attractRs 80 lakh crore in investmentsfor its maritime sector by 2047 under theMaritime Amrit Kaal Vision 2047.

Union MinisterSarbananda Sonowalannounced that this ambitious plan also seeks to generate1.5 crore jobswhile focusing on sustainable and technologically advanced maritime infrastructure.

A major part of this vision is promotinggreen shipping and modernising port infrastructureto reduce environmental impact and improve operational efficiency.
