New Delhi, Jan. 21 -- India faces a sensitive strategic decision after being invited to join a US-led Gaza Peace Board chaired by US President Donald Trump, according to a report by the Global Trade Research Initiative (GTRI).
The invitation comes as the Gaza conflict enters its third year and involves a framework operating outside established United Nations mechanisms.
Announced on January 15, 2026, the board is intended to oversee post-war stabilisation and reconstruction in Gaza.
Concerns Over Legitimacy
GTRI cautioned that participation could pose diplomatic risks for India, given its traditional support for multilateralism and international law, reported ANI.
