New Delhi, Dec. 1 -- India's factory output slowed down in October 2025 with the Index of Industrial Production (IIP) plunging to 0.4 per cent from 4 per cent in the previous month, as per data released by Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation (MoSPI) on Monday.
The slowdown has been attributed to fewer working days due to major festivals, including Dussehra, Diwali, and Chhath, coupled with lower electricity demand caused by an extended rainy season and comfortable ambient temperatures across several States and UTs.
As per the official data, Manufacturing grew 1.8 per cent in October this year while Mining and Electricity output contracted 1.8 per cent and 6.9 per cent respectively.
