Hyderabad, July 24 -- Union Electronics and Information Technology Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw announced that India's first domestically manufactured semiconductor chip is anticipated to be released in 2025.

The minister made this statement during his address at the 85th foundation day celebrations of Keshav Memorial Educational Society in Hyderabad on Friday, July 18, 2025.

Vaishnaw emphasised India's growing position in the global semiconductor industry, highlighting that complex chip designs are already being developed in major Indian cities including Hyderabad, Bengaluru, Pune, Gurugram, and Chennai.
