New Delhi, Sept. 22 -- The first comprehensive report on the Assessment of Logistics Cost in India, prepared by the National Council of Applied Economic Research (NCAER) for the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), was launched on Saturday by Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal.

The study, mandated under the National Logistics Policy (2022), estimates India's logistics costs at 7.97 percent of GDP, offering a more accurate measure than earlier figures of 13-14 percent that were often cited from external studies.
