New Delhi, Nov. 17 -- Petroleum and Natural Gas Minister Hardeep Singh Puri on Monday announced that India's public sector oil companies have finalised a one-year structured contract to import about 2.2 million tonnes per annum (MTPA) of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) from the US Gulf Coast for 2026.

The volume represents nearly 10 percent of India's annual LPG imports and marks the first structured US LPG supply arrangement for the Indian market.

Puri described the development as a significant milestone, noting that one of the world's largest and fastest-growing LPG markets has now formally opened to US exporters.
