New Delhi, Oct. 28 -- India has climbed to thefourth position globallyin renewable energy production, achieving an impressive257 gigawatts (GW)of installed capacity, Union Minister for New and Renewable EnergyPralhad Joshiannounced.
This marks a major leap from81 GW in 2014, underscoring the country's rapid progress in clean energy.
Speaking at the8th Assembly of the International Solar Alliance (ISA), Joshi said India'ssolar power capacitysurged from2.8 GW in 2014 to 128 GWtoday.
Solar module manufacturing also expanded from2 GW to 110 GW, while solar cell manufacturing grew from virtually zero to27 GW.
