New Delhi, Feb. 4 -- The government has extended its prohibition on de-oiled rice bran exports until September 30, 2025, furthering its efforts to maintain domestic supply stability and support the cattle feed industry.

The announcement, made on Tuesday through the Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT), modifies the existing export policy under the Foreign Trade (Development & Regulation) Act, 1992.

The amendment reclassifies de-oiled rice bran from a 'free' export category to a 'prohibited' status, encompassing multiple ITC(HS) codes.

This latest extension follows a series of similar restrictions, beginning with the initial ban imposed in March 2024 until July 31, which was subsequently extended to January 31, 2025.
